MY POCKY STORY
こんにちは (Kon'nichiwa)!
Which of you likes sweets? If you ask me, I'm a sweet tooth! Hehe. Especially I like delicious sweets in a nice package. Bright packaging immediately attracts attention, and if it is also sweet, then immediately take away my money!
Who of our friends knows how to combine these things? Of course - the Japanese, Koreans, Chinese, Thai.
Sorry, I digress from the sweet.
Pocky (ポッキー Pokkī) is a Japanese snack food produced by Ezaki Glico. Pocky was first sold in 1966 and consists of chocolate-coated biscuit sticks.
The original was followed by almond coatings in 1971, and strawberry coatings in 1977. Today, the product line includes variations as milk, mousse, green tea, honey, banana, cookies and cream, and coconut flavored coatings, and themed products such as "Decorer Pocky", with colorful decorative stripes in the coating, and "Men's Pocky", a dark (bittersweet) chocolate and "mature" version.

Pokey can be of different tastes so everyone can find something that he would like. Do not forget about seasonal flavor)
For the first time, I found out about these sticks from anime. There, friends shared Pocky to cheer up and loli ate them in a cute way.
Of course, I also wanted to try this yummy, but there was no hope that I can find them in my country (However, the miracle happened! I was shown a store where different Japanese snacks/drinks and food were sold (and not just Japanese ones). I thoughtlessly bought myself first Pocky. They were with nuts (I really love chocolate with nuts.) Their taste was AMAZING!
I fell in love with the first bite.
However, the sticks were (at that time) very expensive (at that time I was 13, I do not remember). Then that shop was closed, and I could not buy this yummy.
Pocky began to slowly appear in our country again, the store resumed its work, but they opened in a very uncomfortable place for me. I did not immediately find the store when I found out about it. If you want a tour in this mini-shop write in the comments (or in the Instagram).
So, in that store, I again bought Pocky with nuts. I again experienced a paradise pleasure. Even then, they were not pokies, but Pepero (Korean variety of Pocky), but as for me, they do not differ from anything other than the name, and that's, why I call it Pocky. Although if you think about it, I used to call them Pepero, the name of Pocky is more convenient and shorter). A couple of times I bought off at an ordinary grocery store, but the prices there were too high....
Aaaand, then to what I was leading this whole, long conversation, haha.
In our city, recently renovated and opened the market. I always forget to take a photo there. There are many nice and interesting cafes and shops.
One of their shops that I especially liked is UMAMI. There you can find exotic products from around the world.
Today I finally made the first purchase there and it was POCKY! I bought myself classic, strawberry, and blueberry Pocky.
Price: they are a little cheaper than in a regular grocery store. Lotte sticks can also be found, cheaper in the store (about which I told earlier).
Each Pocky box on the side has an “open” mark, the place from where you can open the box. Inside each box is a bag with Pocky. In my opinion, this is very convenient. Pokeys are hermetically packed and in the bag, they are in "safety". Shelf life is one year.
Chocolate Pocky was in a silver bag. Inside there were 23 sticks, this is quite a lot. It is related to the fact that the chocolate Pock was from the “world Pocky day” edition.
Blueberry and strawberry Pocky were in golden packaging (not sure why, maybe a special series) and in each package there were 15 sticks.
When you open the package, a sweet smell immediately strikes the nose. The sticks are crispy and very tasty.
Classic sticks- biscuit sticks with chocolate.
Blueberry sticks – biscuit sticks coated with blueberry cream and flake.
When I go to the city and will be close to the market - then I will buy more!!!! THE POCKY IS INCREDIBLE TASTY !!!!!
